WHAT IS IT?
The 2009 PSRR circuit race series will consist of approximately 15 races on the Circuit Races Schedule. Race Directors have not confirmed race dates, and in some cases, have not even confirmed their race will be held in 2009. Consequently it is not possible to give
an accurate list of Circuit Races at this time. The above list is the best presently available information on Circuit Races and dates. When PSRR officers are able to confirm races and dates for the Circuit, that information will be published in the Pacesetter and the full Circuit will be published
on the website. Please recognize that many organizations outside of PSRR are responsible for organizing and conducting road races, and we must rely on them for information to include in the Pacesetter.
Race applications will generally be included in the Pacesetter a month prior to race date. Race information will also be posted to the website: psrr.org.
Generally, Circuit race locations will be within a 15 minute drive of I-80 or I-55 or I-355 or I-57 so that races are readily accessible to our members

WHO CAN ENTER?
All PSRR runners are eligible for Circuit participation awards. Runners age 15 through 64 must participate in 7 Circuit races to receive an award. Runners 14 and under, or 65 and over, must participate in 5 Circuit races. The age of a Runner as of July 1 is the age used for Circuit age-graded handicap computations.
Participation in a Circuit race will be credited, and finish points awarded for all members who run the race. The finish points will be XC scoring, the lowest age adjusted time will receive one point, second age adjusted time will receive two points, etc. The lowest point total of your best 7 (or 5) races will determine your overall XC ranking for the year.
Participation credit for a circuit race will also be given to a PSRR member who is a volunteer, assisting in PSRR Club sponsored races: National Heritage Corridor 25k, Sundowner 5k and Poultry Predictor. No points are awarded, but if a member runs 4 races and volunteers for the 3 PSRR events, that would give 7 circuit race credits and earn a circuit award. In addition, circuit race participation will be awarded for a half or full marathon of your choice. No points are awarded, but, for example, if a member were to run 6 circuit races and a marathon, that would give 7 circuit race credits and earn a circuit award.
We are unable to track every marathon and half marathon nationally and internationally. Each PSRR member who runs a full or a half should report their results, including race name & date & finish time to . PSRR will publish in the Pacesetter a cumulative total of all reported half and full marathon results, with age graded times.
CIRCUIT SCORING
Circuit awards are based on a combination of handicap and cross country scoring. For 2009 your handicap results will be calculated through the WMA Age-graded performance calculator. The background information website is: howardgrubb.co.uk. The calculations are based on extensive studies comparing world record performance history at distances from sprint to marathon, and adjusts for age differential. Males are calculated against male records, females against female records, and the site will provide you with your percentage status as compared to others of the same age.
Circuit awards will be based on the lowest point totals for the best 7 races (5 races for juniors and seniors), for competition premised awards, which will be presented at the PSRR January banquet.
Circuit race results, age/gender adjusted times, and XC points will be forwarded by a PSRR officer to the Pacesetter editor following each race and/or in summary form following every second or third race. The Pacesetter editor will incorporate results data in the Pacesetter, on a space available basis, at least following every third race.
Runners should review the Circuit standings as they are published. We have found that some race results have had errors in the spelling of names, which could cause the runner not to receive credit for the race. We need any errors corrected promptly (you must notify a Club officer if you find an error) before the next 3 races in the series are reported, in case we need to recompute results to correct omitted runners, or if there are other disputes with race results reports.
PAID MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT
Your PSRR application form must be completed and submitted, with dues paid, prior to your first circuit race. If dues are not paid, only races after your dues have been paid will be credited toward Circuit award consideration.
